In all honesty, this is one of the products, which in my kitchen, gets the least use. However, in several of my friends’ kitchens it gets used multiple times a day. It is because of this disparity that I wanted to spend some time with my food chopper this week and come to appreciate it in a new light
One of the qualities I appreciate about the food chopper is its transparency. The clearness of the chopper allows you to see the size and quantity of the food you are chopping. It is one of the qualities I appreciate about both the Food Chopper and its sister product the Manual Food Processor. Both allow me to see the chopping action and determine how many more times I need to use them and to see when I have achieved the desired texture and quantity. I find transparency is something I appreciate in human beings. Transparency, for me, is important in building trusting relationships as it suggests you have nothing to hide. Our food chopper allows you to see everything, no surprises.
Another quality I appreciate about the food chopper is how the lid doubles as storage cover and chopping surface for small quantities. I do not have dirty my work surface for a small quantity of food as the lid keeps my surface clean. One of the reasons I do not use this as much as my Manual Food Processor is that I am normally chopping up large quantities of onions, jalapenos, or other veggies, so I would have to do multiple batches in my food chopper. So I use this when size matters and small is where I am out.
I have also found that because of the direction of the choppers, the food chopper is more effective with harder to chop products like nuts and carrots. Both these qualities remind me that there is a time and a season for everything. As a friend of mine says there is a sacred writing that is perfect for everyone at a particular time, but it might not be the right writing all the time.
The food chopper can handle larger quantities of food to be chopped. It just requires you to take the lid off and put your food on a larger cutting or chopping surface. It allows you to chop within the container and chop on a larger surface. The difference is that smaller quantities are contained and larger quantities are not. It is like our relationships with people. There are somethings we share which we choose to contain and other parts of our lives which we are willing to make more public.
It always fascinates me what I learn as I spend different time with our products. If you want to add a Food Chopper to your kitchen, visit pamperedchef.biz/sharonjacobson
